Unless otherwise agreed in the Engagement Letter, our work will begin when we receive your implicit or explicit acceptance of that letter.
The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation & Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 apply to this agreement. As a result, this means that you have the right to cancel our agreement within 14 days of signing the Engagement Letter (the “cooling off period”).
What this means is that if you exercise your right to cancel within 14 days of signing the Engagement Letter, you will have no liability to us whatsoever and no charges will be made by us to you for any work undertaken. You can cancel the agreement within the Cancellation Period by email to

After the expiry of the Cancellation Period, each of us may terminate this agreement by giving not less than 21 days’ notice in writing to the other party, except where you fail to cooperate with us or we have reason to believe that you have provided us or HMRC with misleading information, in which case we may terminate this agreement immediately. Termination will be without prejudice to any rights that may have accrued to either party prior to termination.
In the event of termination of this contract, we will endeavour to agree with you the arrangements for the completion of work in progress at that time, unless we are required for legal or regulatory reasons to cease work immediately. In that event, we shall not be required to carry out further work and shall not be responsible or liable for any consequences arising from termination.
If you terminate this agreement outside of the Cancellation Period prescribed by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, we will make a charge for the work undertaken by us on your behalf, prior to receipt of your instructions to terminate. Our charges will be calculated at the higher of:
a) £250.00 per hour for all attendances, preparation, and perusal and £50.00 for each telephone call made or received and for each letter or email sent; or
b) 30% plus VAT of any PAYE tax refund or reduction that is either received or offered to you by HMRC in reliance of our work, or of any tax refund calculation that we have sent to you for your perusal, prior to receipt of your notification to terminate the agreement, or within 21 days following the receipt of your notification to terminate the agreement.
